Converting deference into acquiescence
The Financial Times has an editorial today bemoaning the way the U.S. Courts have been capitulating to the Bush Adminstration's ongoing erosion of civil liberties:
Case by case, week by week, a complaisant US judiciary is gradually abdicating its responsibility to uphold basic freedoms guaranteed by the constitution and the law. Why isn't the U.S. media raising similar warnings?
