Water Once Filled Opportunity Rover Landing Site
A 2:00 pm EST post at Space.com reports that this particular site on Mars was once covered in water.
NASA scientists have found enough evidence of water on Mars to believe that the area around the Opportunity rover was once awash with the wet resource.... "It doesn't mean life was there," [Stephen] Squyres[, principal scientist for the Mars Exploration Rover mission,] said. "But this was a habitable place."
