Gmail ruckus
I don't get the hornet's nest that's been stirred up by Google's announcement of Gmail. Personally, I'm not at all interested. But if I were, I would seriously object to lawmakers trying to outlaw it. As a matter of fact, I do seriously object. So what if "it would place advertising in personal messages after searching them for key words?" Freely choosing this should be illegal? No one's being forced. If I agree, for whatever reason—say, in order to have a gigabyte archive of past messages—to accept such advertising, who is being harmed? And exactly how? Let it be.
