Bone Marrow Transplant
As I posted last week, my brother has a sibling donor. The insurance company has approved the transplant and today our sister, the donor, passed her physical exam as being "very healthy and an excellent candidate." In one week, she goes on Neupogen and on the following Monday, the harvest — actually of stem cells rather than bone marrow & mdash; begins. Shortly thereafter, assuming all goes well with the harvest, Justin will begin undergo chemo/radiation to destory his own marrow. Then they'll inject Lisa's stem cells. Within a month we should have a pretty good idea of how it's going
