Life in These United States Sam Frantz sez: Here's a true story worthy of Reader's Digest. On Sunday my friend Chris went to the grocery store to buy mustard, mayonnaise, and eggs. The bill came to $6.66. The older female clerk paused and repeated the sinister number "six six six" with serious trepidation in her voice. Chris informed her this it was OK, as he was making devilled eggs.
