Medical Miracles I'm getting old. On this topic, I sound like my parents when I was young. My brother's bone marrow transplant was last Friday. I never dreamt he would be doing as well as he is. His doctor says a mere ten years ago was the Dark Ages of transplants. And then, [via Brian Clapper], there's this BBC News article about a guy who had part of his jaw removed, due to cancer. Doctors grew a new jawbone on his back, just below his shoulder blade, then removed it and grafted onto what was left of his original jaw. Amazing!
