[First annual?] Hookie awards I've decided to create the Hookie Awards. Named after the great public intellectual Sidney Hook, they go to the authors of some of the most important essays written in 2004. So says David Brooks in the New York Times in introducing the first batch of them. A warning: if you read these pieces you will be so intimidatingly well informed it may cramp your social life. From his introduction to the second batch. I must admit that I haven't yet read any of them, but I'm looking forward with enthusiasm to doing so [via Dave Farber's IP list].
